Select a portrait you like and describe it. What do you feel it transmits to you?

  1. Hi everybody! I have selected this portrait because, in spite of the fact that at first sight you can see an old man with a slight expression of happiness, if you look at his eyes, you can observe the opposite, sadness or maybe desilusion. It depends on each person, I mean, the way they interpret the portrait, but I don't have any doubts that this man has suffered at some point in his long life.

  2. hey all! I found this picture, and I fell in love with it. http://www.pringlesfm.com.ar/images/aborigen.jpg

What a beautiful portrait! For me, her countenance is exquisite. As I look at her I can see nothing but inner peace. If I close my eyes thinking about this portrait, it’s like breathing fresh air deeply, it soothes the soul.
The wrinkles in her face are to me marks done by time and tiring, work and effort, but she doesn’t seem to be ashamed of them. They appear to be signs of wisdom. Her countenance reflects nothing but serenity. She seems to be the kind of person who fully lives her life, who enjoys every little detail of life, nature and what’s in her life road.
Her look is the most attractive thing in this picture. It looks as if she could reflect her soul through her eyes, her kindness, all she has lived, suffered and enjoyed. This picture really makes the woman's soul visible, transparent to us.
I think this is a perfect example of photograph's beauty.

  3. I chose a picture of Fito Previderé himself to do this topic which I came across on the internet, as he was the person who inspired us to do this kind of work. In this picture we can observe a person (Previderé) sitting at a table in a room, probably a bar or a dining room in somebody’s house. The character in this picture is eating some peanuts, and there is a camera on the table.

Maybe it is because I know some things about this person, but I can’t help looking at this portrait without getting a felling of extreme wisdom and tranquility. It looks to me as if the person in the picture has some stories to tell and some experiences to share. He looks calm and relaxed and there is a hint of witty in his look. However, this portrait causes me another sensation, a stronger one, a sensation of endless patience. He doesn’t seem in a hurry, not even anxious or worry. He looks relaxed and willing to wait, wait for something to happen , wait for adventures to come, wait for the flash to go off to capture that moment forever.

  4. Hello everybody! I must confess that it was very difficult for me to find a portrait, because there were so many on Internet! And all of them were so beautiful. So, I decided to focus on one topic, for example, women, children, old people, and finally I decided to search pictures of children…
I especially like children’s laughter, so I found this one. Isn’t it cute?
It´s one of the purest things I have ever seen in my life, the baby’s little face and his blue eyes, transmit me the same sensations that I feel when I am barefoot, a profound peace. His face expression also reminds me to my childhood, because of the happiness that his countenance shows. His look, transparent and penetrating, demonstrates his innocence, typical of little kids.
It’s one of those images that I would stare at for hours.

  5. I have chosen a portrait of a participant of a reality called "America's Next Top Model" which I like so much.
This portrait shows a young woman who is suffering a lot and looks tired of crying. I guess that she was about to get married and something wrong happened, because her hairdo looks like that of a bride. This picture transmits to me a lot of sadness, depression and also an air of resignation when I look at those eyes full of tears and pain.

    Here's the portrait:

  6. Hello people! Concerning a portrait, I´ve chosen this one:

    http://www.naturephoto-cz.com/photos/sevcik/child--portrait-child-2.jpg

The portrait presents a girl of about 8 years old who, with a lovely smile, is looking at the camera. The place surrounding her seems to be a valley, maybe she lives there and probably in poor conditions. She is wearing a yellow t-shirt which contrasts very beautifully with her dark skin and fits her really gorgeous.
Personally, I, in most of the cases, tend to observe the eyes of people, and here, it wasn´t the exception. Her eyes were the ones which caught my attention because of several things. The color is so dark that looks like it´s all part of the pupil. Besides, they are big, and the face is small, that´s why I think the eyes are so attractive to me. And, they have a deep brightness that transmits peace and innocence.
Despite her smile that shows joy, I don´t know why I suspect that her eyes hide something sad. It may be the way of living, poverty, or something related to her family.

That was my perception of the portrait, you might have another one!

    See you!

  7. http://www.destination360.com/contents/pictures/mexico/frida-kahlo-biography.jpg

The portrait that I've chosen shows Frida Khalo dressed in black and wearing a headband with some pink roses as a decoration. She is also wearing golden accessories and heavy make up. Behind her, there is a green wall decorated with white flowers.
Personally, I love Frida and even more this picture because her eyes transmit me her inner peace and tranquillity. Some years ago, I had the opportunity to read her biography and I discovered how sad her life was. She expressed her feelings through her portraits which most of them show her sadness. But this one, I think is completely the opposite. The vivid colours make her look full of life and above all heighten her outstanding beauty.

  8. Hi girls!!

    Here's the portrait I've chosen:
    http://s.tf1.fr/mmdia/i/67/8/3934678emwsh.jpg?v=1

He is Georges Méliès, one of my idols. He was a French illusionist and filmmaker famous for leading many technical and narrative developments in the earliest days of cinema. He was a prolific innovator in the use of special effects. Therefore, he had the extraordinary ability to transform reality through cinematography.

What can I say about him? He is a brilliant man, and every time I look at a portrait of him, I can see someone who fully lives his life, someone with lots of projects, and someone willing to discover new things. But I've chosen this portrait in particular, because it transmits me a desire to go beyond reality and beyond all we know in this world; a desire to fight for your dreams until they come true. Through his eyes I can immediately see a look of satisfaction, maybe because of all the things he had achieve, but I can also observe a strong feeling of greater success, of going beyond your goals, of aiming at the stars, and getting to them! as he got to the moon, in a sense!
At a first sigh, it seems as he is looking at you, but at a second sigh, you can discern he is gazing at the distance, as if he is looking above something, perhaps, he is staring at the sky, because not even the sky was a barrier for him to achieve something. I really admire him!!

  9. Hi, girls!
How difficult was to choose one portrait from all that can be found on the internet! Well, I’ve chosen this:

    http://farm1.staticflickr.com/161/361691477_2933366ad3_o.jpg
The reason why I’ve picked up this portrait is because it’s a black and white photograph and I think that emotions can be perceived differently through this mode. It gives a photograph high contrast between lights and shadows, and also allows us to appreciate the different surfaces, such as soft, rough, hairy, etc. Another reason for my choice is that I love children because they are transparent, pure, innocent, little people who don’t care about appearances. The picture shows a little girl with her finger touching her mouth. I loved that gesture when I first saw it. I believe she’s hearing and looking something attentively, showing some interest and trying to understand something as her eyes are not wide open. Her eyes also transmit a hint of cheer and emotion which makes the portrait fresh and tender.

Hi ladies!! I chose this picture as it really called my attention the fact that the man had decided to share his portrait with his dog. For me it´s wonderful because it expresses how important animals are in life. The dog is a Samoyed and seems to be an excellent companion for his owner. This breed is characterized by and alert and happy expression and we can see this in the painting.
Furthermore, I truly appreciate the affection this man gives to his dog. Love is one of the greatest gifts we can share with our dogs. For this reason I consider this picture the best example that shows that you can give as much love as your heart can handle.

Hope you like the portrait as much as I did ;)
