Hi class!!! Here's a video I love to share with my students to see how they feel about technology. Do you identify yourself with the monk?????
After you watch it, please write a comment.
Sit back and enjoy it!
Jajaja! Really funny! For sure my parents would feel identified! I don't consider myself a "technological" person. However, I have to recognize that I've learned a lot in the past few years, at list I know how to open a file, jaja! But I also have to admit that is quite hard to be updated concernig technology and the internet, since it evolves so fast that, once in a while is necesary to catch up with the last advances, just like the man in the video had to learn how to open a book! Anyway, I do as much as I can so as not to fall behind! And I think we all should do that, don't we??? ;)
This is the second time I watch the video and it made me laugh the same way! As Vicky, I´m not a technological girl either but I try to giv it a go. I´d say that my parents are like the monk, it doesn´t matter how many times I explain them how to use the computer, they won´t understand and will ask me the same questions. It makes me soooo nervous! However, I know that technology is a hard topic for them just as cooking is for me! So, I try not to get angry... Well, see you soon! Hugs,
I feel totally identified with the monk! hahahaha I'm a disaster using technology and that is why I don't like it very much, but I know it is extremely useful and I want to learn more about it in order to apply some things when I'll be a teacher. I had a lot of problems when trying to write a comment on this blog the first time, and I had to go to a technician! =/ Imagine how "untechnological" I am! hahah See you! Rocío
hahahaha! Now, I don't feel so lonely! I thought that I was the only one who don't know how to use either the computer or the Internet! hahaha! not only that but I also suck at using any movile phone including mine!! Also, I don't have facebook or twiter, that's why I'm happy that we are using this blog so I can improve a bit and know more about how these social networks work. see you guys!!
hilarious! I laughed a lot, especially when the monk got so surprised while he was taught to turn the pages and continue reading the same text! lol! I am neither a friend nor a foe with technology... but I find myself obliged to cope with it and the problems that its usage carries, because of my little sister. I cannot tolerate being called dumb, because I cannot use some new tool or software, so generally I manage to self-teach myself to use it... and realise that, in the end, it was not so difficult! I can think of my mother while watching the video (she has serious issues with the pc esp.) but I cannot think of myself as a technological analphabet... we were born in this technological era, and we've seen many many new developments... so I believe we're definitely used to learning novel stuff every day. I also realised that I had some time ago opened a blog account, and that's why my nickname was not Vicky. haha
hi guys!! Isn't the video hilarious'!!! Sooner or later, we all feel that way. Even if nowadays you like technology and go with the flow, in the future, I am sure, your kids will end up teaching you and will get as nervous as you get with your parents now. Anyway, whether you love or just can't make friends with technology, it's a very important part of our lives now and we can't ignore it in the teaching and learning processes. The introduction of computers and virtuality is no doubt a huge step in education nowadays. Can you think of technological advances in education in the past? They're soooo common now that we don't even consider them technologhy! let's see what you can come up with! I'll be looking forward to reading your answers.
I know that we are living in the 21st century, for this reason we must realize that this is an age that will be forever known as the technology age. However,In my case I´m really bad at using techological things and to make matters worse I´m no interested in learning how to use them. Despite all the negatives, I understand the importance technology has in everyday life.
There are sooo much inventions that are so common and that we use constantly on a daily basis, such as pens, erasers! (my grandmother used to erase with bread crumbs when she was at school)... and the pc has become a common, ordinary thing in our lives, as well as the Internet. I remember when I first used the Internet... I couldn´t imagine what I would find in the pc screen. And now, look at us! we're using it, as we use a pen, an eraser, or an elevator. It's a tool for us, and like other developments, virtuality keeps evolving and making things easier for us. Yet, we cannot set aside that its evolution implies complexity and that's why we have to be updated all the time.
Hi!! haha, it was so silly!! I really don't get on well with technology, but I'm not THAT old-fashioned. I think that perhaps our grandparents would feel the same with computers, I remember my grandma that she sat in front of the computer and she asked me "what is this for?" how dou you do it?" and things like that.... and that was when I feel an expert haha. Nice video!!
I’ve found the video really funny! I laugh every time I think of it! Anyway, the thing is that I don’t feel completely identified with the video as I’m not scared of technology and I learn a lot when I try to use the computer and gadgets even though it takes me some time, Ha-ha!!
ohh it was really really funny!! I must confess that I am like the monk! I'm not very good at using technology, especially computers, it's something that I cannot understand completely, but I know that it will be useful for my future, for my career, and I will have to work hard on that.
That was a really nice video!! It made me laughed a lot!! I cannot say that I feel identified with the monk, because although I'm not a master in using technology, at least I know something about how it works! I neither love techonology nor hate it, I'm just accustomed to use it! and I think that all of us have to get familiar with it, because it's something that we live with! we see technology everywhere, and we mustn't ignore it!
guys... we've come a long way as far as tech is concerned!! did you reak Vicky's gandma erased using bread? wow! Let's keep learning about it together!
